Overview
The Village of Bannockburn is a small, wooded community in Lake County, Illinois, about 30 miles north of downtown Chicago. 97 Switch has been the Village's digital partner since 2014, building and maintaining its website and promoting its community events.
The Challenge
The Village's previous website was rigid: staff couldn't easily navigate it or make changes, and residents struggled to find what they needed. With more than 70 pages of meeting minutes, ordinances, applications, services and events, the Village needed a site that worked for residents and staff alike.
Our Approach
A website built around navigation
In 2014 we built a responsive site and moved every document across, from meeting minutes to ordinances and directories. In 2020 we rebuilt it again, reorganizing more than 70 pages so residents and new visitors can find what they need quickly.
Promoting the community
We produced promotional video that captures the Village's historic personality, and we market its local festivals and special events.
Ongoing care
We maintain and update the site regularly, because village information changes constantly.
